Infrared Transom Inspection

Hatteras Transom

Infrared Transom Inspection:  The transom on this 52 Hatteras built in '85, shows a tremendous amount of water.  Part of the Divinycell Foam Core shows water saturation that has migrated from the above balsa core. In the 3D Infrared Image, we are able to see the incremental pixels due to the algorithm used. In order to be able to see the cores, low temperature heating was used.  As the temperature increased and cooled, the water present heated and cooled at a different rate than the surrounding materials...thus we are able to see cores radiated temperature differences.
